Small Habits To Dramatically Improve Your Health

A healthy body is important for a healthy brain and a happier life. Dealing with health problems causes mental anguish, a compromised lifestyle, and an overall feeling of helplessness and dissatisfaction. Working towards bettering your health is the first step towards a happier life. Meals that are balanced and nutritional, a good night’s sleep, hydration, and exercise are some of the basic habits we can all adopt for a healthy body and mind. Here are some more tips for you to get started on your health and wellness journey:

Butter it up :

A drizzle of olive oil and a spatter of butter on your sautéed vegetables can be extremely beneficial. Oils help with nutrient absorption in your leafy greens. These healthy fats are also high in nutrient content on their own and so, they help give you that extra boost of energy.

Hug it out :

Various studies have found that hugging a loved one can release oxytocin, the feel-good chemical that leads to a healthy and relaxed mind and a stress-free body. One study also found that people who regularly hugged their loved ones were less likely to catch a cold.

Take care of your gut:

Your gut health is usually the first hint that suggests something is not quite right with your body. Stress and anxiety can cause constipation, indigestion, and bloating in some cases, even triggering diarrhea in extreme cases. So if you are under stress or feeling anxious, do not chomp down your food in a rush–chew your mouthfuls properly and put your spoon down in between bites.

Watch your snacking:

Snacking is something we can get carried away with, and being mindful of what you munch on leisurely can make a world of difference for your health. Take care of the 4Ps of snacking, planning, packing, proteins, and produce. Plan your snack options while grocery shopping, pack your prepared snack in handy containers, and incorporate proteins in your snacks. Fresh produce is also one of the most healthy options you can have as a snack.

Light it up :

Being exposed to sunshine early on in the day helps regulate your body clock and sets your sleeping cycle straight. Sunlight is also a source of Vitamin D, the happy vitamin and so, soaking up some sunshine early on leads to a happier, healthier you and ensures a good night’s sleep.

Self-care:

Making healthy choices is the best form of self-care. It is also about making the more difficult choices when it comes to setting boundaries and saying no. Self-care is extremely important for your mental well-being and an extremely important component of a happy life.
